How does a 126 year-old church become relevant in society? One, by proclaiming the Gospel to the contemporary Estonian in ways he or she can understand; and two, by being a church for everyday and for every person. Karmel Church of Rakvere Estonia continues to be a blessing in this community by participating in the city’s life. They partner with civic and other organizations to provide activities to children and youth.
In 2018 Black Gospel Week was held at Karmel Church. In collaboration with GLINTS workshop participants were led by Ken Taylor (Hallelujah Gospel Family Japan) and Ray Sidney (BGM artist, Long Beach, CA). For four nights in August the Rakvere community was treated to performances by the Rakvere Black Gospel Choir and other Estonian artists. The GLINTS team also ministered in the cities of Keila, Kunda and Kohtla-Järve.
The focus of the partnership between GLINTS and Karmel Church is innovative ministry outreach and discipling youth.
Karmel Church has embarked on a building project (2019) to expand its ministry footprint in Rakvere. They are especially excited about opening the youth center within the church. Construction will continue this year (2020) with services being planned for December. Completion of this worship/youth center will be sometime in 2021.
Funds are still needed to complete Karmel’s building project. You may designate donations for Karmel Church by following the instructions below.
