Batanes Grace Ministries Incorporated (BGMI), located in the northernmost province of the Philippines, is a registered church organization dedicated to making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in Batanes and beyond. BGMI was founded in 2016 by Pastor Jerry Redondo directing ministries in disciple-making, evangelism, with special attention to children and youth. BGMI is also in the process of birthing a campus ministry at the Batanes State College. BGMI forged a partnership with GLINTS in 2025 not only for the processing of international donations, but also to increase BGMI’s capacity to respond to natural disasters and community development needs. GLINTS also provides personnel to elevate BGMI’s disciple-making and church planting efforts.
Pastor Jerry Redondo was called by God to reach Batanes for Christ at a young age. In preparing for ministry, Jerry enrolled as an undergraduate student at the Bible Baptist Seminary and Institute in Taytay, Rizal on the main island of Luzon. Shortly after receiving his BA in Theology from BBSI (2010), he pastored a church in Manila for six years, returning to Batanes in 2016 to fulfill his calling. Jerry is currently pursuing a master’s degree in pastoral counseling at the Asia Biblical Theological Seminary. He married Angea de Sagon in 2019 and have a daughter, with another child on the way.
BGMI currently meets for worship services in a rented facility on Batan Island, but dreams of constructing a church building on a piece of property the church already owns. Prayer needs include: 1) funds for the completion of the new church building; 2) a full-time Filipino church planter for Sabtang Island where there is no Bible-believing church; and 3) God’s favor as BGMI establishes a campus ministry at the state college.
