Kenny Damara was born in Hyderabad, India and came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at age 14. Growing up as a pastor’s kid, he always told himself and other people that he would never enter vocational Christian ministry. Kenny’s ambition was to be a cricketer who would eventually play for the national team of India. For his undergraduate studies he majored in Mass Communication, and gained experience as a freelance journalist working for The Hindu, a national newspaper in India. It was at this juncture in life, that the Lord changed the direction of Kenny’s life. In June 2008, he felt the Lord’s call to preach the Word of God.
Pursuing theological studies as preparation for the ministry, Kenny came to Chicago to attend the Moody Theological Seminary to where he completed a Master of Divinity degree in 2013.
The Moody Church has been Kenny’s home church where he currently serves as a Pastoral Resident. He has the opportunity and privilege to regularly use his gifts in preaching, teaching and mentoring.
Kenny has a desire and burden to see the Gospel clearly proclaimed (evangelism) and defended and explained (apologetics). And whether it is in a pastoral capacity or that of an evangelist-apologist, he desires to see people turn to Christ, and grow in His likeness.
